La Ratita Presumida Video Cuento Infantil

Spanish (ES)
English (US)
04 min 18 sec
Have you ever thought a sweeping rat could ever help you with your Spanish? La Ratita Presumida is a traditional fairytale in Spain. The original story is full of old-style gruesome details, and "some animals were harmed during the making of the story". In this "edited highlights" version, the rat is too smug to accept her different suitors and only goes for the one that says that they'll be quiet during the night and not bother her. Anyhow, you'll be able to learn how to form the future in Spanish, as the rat questions the suitors on their future behavior to decide whether she should marry them. Revising the infinitive will help you with learning the future, and you will also understand the intentions behind the animals' answers. Don't forget to show this video to your friends so you can practice together by discussing it. The vain rat

Once upon a time, there was a little rat who was very vain.

One day, the little rat was sweeping his house when, suddenly, on the floor she sees something that shines: a gold coin! The little rat picked it up from the ground and began to think what she would buy with the coin.

I know, I'll buy candy. Hey, no, my teeth will hurt.

Well, I'll buy cakes. Hey, no, my tummy will hurt.

I know, I'll buy a little red bow for my tail.

The little rat put her coin in her pocket and went to the store.

Once in the store, she bought a piece of the best red ribbon.

She bought it and went back to her little house. The next day, when the vain little rat got up, she put the little bow she had bought on her tail and went out to sweep her house like every day.

And a dog appeared: "Little rat, little rat. You who are so pretty, do you want to marry me?"

And the little rat said: "I don't know, I don't know. What will you do at night?"

"Woof, woof, woof woof!"

"Oh, no, I will not marry you. Your voice scares me."

The dog left and a pig appeared.

"Little rat, little rat. You who are so pretty, do you want to marry me?"

And the little mouse said: "I don't know, I don't know. What will you do at night?

"Oink, oink"

"Oh, no, I will not marry you. Your voice is very ordinary!"

The pig left and a cat appeared.

"Little rat, little rat. You who are so pretty, do you want to marry me?"

And the little rat said: "I don't know. I don't know. "What will you do at night?"

"Meow meow".

"Oh, no, I will not marry you. Your voice is irritating.

The cat left and a duck appeared.

"Little rat, little rat. You who are so pretty, do you want to marry me?"

And the little rat said: "I don't know. I don't know. What will you do at night?"

"Quack, quack."

"Oh, no, I will not marry you. Your voice is rude."

The duck left and a donkey appeared.

"Little rat, little rat. You who are so pretty, do you want to marry me?"

And the little rat said:

"I don't know. I don't know. What will you do at night?"

"Ee-o, ee-o."

"Oh, no, I will not marry you. Your voice gives me a headache."

The donkey disappears where it came from and a mouse arrives and says to the little rat:

"Little rat, little rat. You who are so pretty, do you want to marry me?"

And the little rat said: "I don't know, I don't know. What will you do at night?"

"Sleep and be quiet, sleep and be quiet."

And the little rat replies: "Well, I have to marry you."

And so the vain little rat and the mouse got married. The two of them lived happily ever after and that is the end of the story.

Pues me compraré pasteles.

Tú por las noches, ¿qué you will do

"¡Guau, guau, buf buf!"

"Ay, no, contigo no me casaré. Tu voz me asusta".

"Ratita, ratita. Tú que eres tan bonita te quieres casar conmigo?"

Y la ratita le dijo: "No sé, no sé. Tú por las noches, ¿qué you will do

"Oink, oink"

"Ay, no, contigo no me casaré. Tu voz es muy ordinaria!"

Se fue el cerdo y apareció un gato.

"Ratita, ratita. Tú que eres tan bonita, ¿te quieres casar conmigo?"

Y la ratita le dijo: "No sé. No sé. "Tú por las noches, ¿qué you will do

"Miau, miau".

"Ay, no, contigo no me casaré. Que tu voz es irritante.

Se fue el gato y apareció un pato.

"Ratita, ratita. Tú que eres tan bonita, ¿te quieres casar conmigo?"

Y la ratita le dijo: "No sé. No sé. Tú por las noches, ¿qué you will do

"Cuac, cuac".

"Ay, no, contigo no me casaré. Tu voz es malsonante".

Se fue el pato y apareció un burro.

"Ratita, ratita. Tú que eres tan bonita, ¿te quieres casar conmigo?"

Y la ratita le dijo:

"No sé. No sé. Tú por las noches, ¿qué you will do

"I-o, i-o".

"Ay, no, contigo no me casaré. Tu voz me da dolor de cabeza".

El burro desaparece por donde vino y llega un ratón y le dice a la ratita:

"Ratita, ratita. Tú que eres tan bonita, ¿te quieres casar conmigo?"

Y la ratita le dijo: "No sé, no sé. Tú por las noches, ¿qué you will do

"Dormir y callar, dormir y callar".
