Are there typical habits that everyone, where you live, seems to have?
Even though Italians can be really different from one another, there are some things that they all tend to have in common. The YouTuber LearnAmo makes that clear with her video exploring some "strange" Italian habits and customs that might be different than where you live.
All of these stereotypes are in good fun, and they're all lighthearted, so you don't have to worry about making any Italians in your life upset if you show them this video! Besides, LearnAmo is an educational channel, which makes it a great resource while you learn the language!

Ok, piccolo disclaimer, prima che i miei connazionali italiani mi sparino addosso dicendo che non è vero, e che non tutti gli italiani sono così e che questi sono solo degli stereotipi e bla bla bla.
Voglio sottolineare che sì, in questo video parleremo di stereotipi e che sì, gli stereotipi si fondano su un po' di verità, ma che ovviamente non sono cose vere per ogni singolo italiano.
L'obiettivo principale di questo video è far divertire i miei studenti stranieri di italiano, farli avvicinare un po' alla cultura tradizionale italiana e, perché no, far loro anche capire molte delle battute e degli scherzi che vengono trattati nei film, soprattutto commedie italiane.
Detto questo, iniziamo.
Bene, tendenzialmente gli italiani tengono molto al loro aspetto.
Difficilmente incontrerete persone trasandate, trascurate nel loro aspetto.
Quando andate al supermercato, in banca, in posta ma anche all'aeroporto.
Si potrebbe aprire un grande capitolo dedicato esclusivamente all'aeroporto, dove la maggior parte degli italiani vuole andare sempre vestita in maniera impeccabile.
Perché, diciamolo, prendere l'aereo é un grande evento.
Ma in ogni caso anche per andare in palestra gli italiani tendono a curare molto il loro look, il loro aspetto.
E quindi le ragazze per fare l'allenamento si truccano o i ragazzi scelgono accuratamente cosa indossare.
E quindi se in altri paesi è assolutamente normale andare, per esempio a fare la spesa in ciabatte e pigiama, sappiate che qui in Italia invece lo stile ce l'abbiamo nel DNA.
Che poi magari si vedano al supermercato persone che non sono alla moda, in realtà per loro sono vestite bene.
É questo quello che conta.

A una festa vestita così?
No, sto andando in palestra.
Un'altra cosa su cui molti stranieri ci prendono in giro è l'attaccamento morboso verso la famiglia.
In altri stati è molto comune andare via di casa, quindi andare a vivere da soli non appena si compiono diciotto anni.
Quindi non appena si raggiunge la maggiore età.
Ma in Italia è abbastanza comune vedere eterni Peter Pan di trenta, quaranta, cinquant'anni che vivono ancora con i genitori.
Che dormono ancora nella loro cameretta, che sono serviti, riveriti e coccolati dai loro genitori, soprattutto dalle mamme.
E in realtà, anche se non vivono piu' con i loro genitori, anche se hanno avuto il coraggio di andare a vivere da soli, i contatti tra gli italiani e la propria famiglia, soprattutto mamma, sono molto frequenti.
Sia che la mamma chiami per chiedere se tutto è a posto, per chiedere come stiamo per chiedere se abbiamo mangiato, sia che noi chiamiamo la nostra mamma per chiedere consigli, pareri e suggerimenti, per sfogarci un po'.

Un altro fatto curioso che contraddistingue tutti, ma proprio tutti gli italiani e' la paura per le indigestioni.
Tutti noi italiani siamo stati terrorizzati sin da bambini da genitori, zii, nonni, cugini e parenti sul prendere freddo dopo un pasto.
In particolare quando si decide di passare una giornata al lago o al mare è severamente vietato fare il bagno dopo pranzo.
Devono trascorrere almeno due o tre ore prima che possiamo immergere anche solo un piede in acqua dopo aver mangiato.
E questo probabilmente è dovuto al fatto che i nostri pranzi anche d'estate e anche sulla spiaggia non sono poi così leggeri.
Infatti difficilmente gli italiani riescono a resistere sotto l'ombrellone senza la pasta, i salumi, la focaccia e quant altro.
Ma in realtà questa questione non riguarda solo le indigestioni, perché noi italiani siamo veramente tanto ipocondriaci e quindi abbiamo in realtà tantissime altre paure relazionate con la nostra salute.
E ci sono un sacco di cose che non facciamo per paura di determinati problemi fisici che potremmo avere.
Ognuno dei quali ha il suo proprio nome specifico.
Per esempio non possiamo uscire di casa con i capelli bagnati perché potrebbe venirci un raffreddore, un torcicollo, un'influenza.
No no, questo esiste per una ragione, questo va usato sempre.
Oppure quando siamo molto sudati o bagnati non possiamo metterci direttamente sotto l'aria condizionata.
Anzi, non possiamo accendere l'aria condizionata o il ventilatore.
No, perché potrebbe venirci un dolore qui alla cervicale, un dolorino proprio sotto il collo.
O potrebbe venirci un colpo della strega.
E cioe' un dolore acuto in una qualsiasi parte della nostra schiena.

Per noi italiani è assolutamente normale abbracciare un amico o un'amica, dare due baci sulla guancia anche a persone che abbiamo appena conosciuto o per esempio prendere a braccetto una persona quando si cammina.
O chiamarsi addirittura amore e tesoro.
In altri paesi questo è decisamente un no no.
All'estero infatti queste manifestazioni d'affetto sono riservate alla famiglia e a pochi amici intimi.
Ma noi italiani siamo così, siamo calorosi, siamo passionali.
Diamo pacche sulla spalla, abbracci, baci, camminiamo a braccetto in maniera completamente innocua senza che ci sia nessuna relazione sentimentale in corso.

Anzi sushi, tacos, milkshake e tante altre cose esotiche sono diventate sempre più popolari negli ultimi anni.
Ma se c'è una cosa che gli italiani proprio non riescono a tollerare e' la trasformazione esotica dei piatti tradizionali della cucina italiana.
Mi riferisco quindi alla pasta con il ketchup, alla pizza con l'ananas, al caffè latte durante o dopo il pranzo, magari accompagnato con cibi salati.
Mi riferisco al vino caldo, alla pasta scotta, alla carbonara preparata con la panna e così via.
Ecco.
Anche se non tutti gli italiani sono dei maghi ai fornelli queste cose proprio sono un grande no.

Dovete sapere che gli italiani quando devono uscire di casa e devono rimanere fuori casa per un po' di tempo, qualche ora o anche qualche giorno, lasciano luci accese, radio, impianto stereo, televisori accesi e in funzione nella propria abitazione.
Addirittura ci sono in commercio spine con un timer per regolare l'accensione e lo spegnimento automatici di una lampada in modo tale che per tutti i giorni che non saremo a casa durante la sera la lampada sarà accesa e questo darà da fuori l'idea che noi siamo in casa.
La cosa più curiosa è proprio la polizia che da' agli italiani questi suggerimenti in modo tale da evitare o ridurre al minimo i furti nelle abitazioni.
