Short stories in Italian.

The two vases.

An elderly Chinese woman had two large vases attached to the ends of a stick.

She used them to carry water from the river to her home.

One of the two vases was perfect, while the other had a crack.

When the woman got home, the perfect vase was full of water, while the cracked vase was half empty.

For over two years, the woman brought home one and a half vases of water each day instead of two.

The perfect vase was proud of himself.

The broken vase, on the other hand, was terribly ashamed of its imperfection and of being able to do only half of its task.

After two years, it finally found the courage to talk to the old lady.

The woman, smiling, replied "Have you noticed that on your side of the path there are always some flowers while there aren't any on the other side?"

I know you have a crack, which is why I planted some flower seeds on your side of the road.

On the way home, you watered them with the water that came out of your crack and so you made many beautiful flowers grow.

For two years I have been collecting colorful and fragrant flowers that beautify my home and make me feel good.

Then she added, "If you hadn't had that crack, this wouldn't have been possible."

Remember that we all have flaws, but these can be our strength and make the lives of those around us even better.

Ti racconto una storia.

Brevi storie in italiano.

I due vasi.

Un'anziana donna cinese aveva due grandi vasi attaccati alle estremità di un bastone.

Li usava per trasportare l'acqua dal fiume fino alla sua casa.

Uno dei due vasi era perfetto, mentre l'altro aveva una crepa.

Quando la donna arrivava a casa, il vaso integro era pieno d'acqua, mentre il vaso con la crepa era mezzo vuoto.

Per oltre due anni, ogni giorno la donna portò a casa un vaso e mezzo d'acqua anziché due.

Il vaso perfetto era orgoglioso di se stesso.

Il vaso rotto invece, si vergognava terribilmente della sua imperfezione e di riuscire a svolgere solo metà del suo compito.

Dopo due anni, trovo' finalmente il coraggio di parlare con L'anziana signora le disse "Mi vergogno di me stesso perché a causa della mia crepa tu porti a casa solo metà dell'acqua che prendi."

La donna, sorridendo, gli rispose "Hai notato che sul tuo lato del sentiero ci sono sempre dei fiori mentre non ci sono sull'altro lato?"

So bene che tu hai una crepa, ed è per questo motivo che sul tuo lato della strada ho piantato dei semi di fiori.

Mentre tornavamo a casa, tu li innaffiavi con l'acqua che usciva dalla tua crepa e così hai fatto crescere tanti bei fiori.

Da due anni sto raccogliendo fiori colorati e profumati che abbelliscono la mia casa e mi fanno sentire bene.

Poi aggiunse "Se tu non avessi avuto quella crepa, questo non sarebbe stato possibile."

Ricorda che tutti abbiamo dei difetti, ma questi possono essere il nostro punto forte e rendere perfino migliore la vita di chi ci sta intorno.
